A note of history

Albert I (1848-1922), is one of the most enlightened princes of his time.

He is nicknamed "the Learned Prince" or "the Navigator Prince" because of his abyssal love for science and especially for the oceans.

A true Jules Verne character, he conducted no less than 28 scientific campaigns, from Spitsbergen to the Azores and in 1910, he inaugurated the Oceanographic Museum.

Also passionate about prehistory, the Prince founded a museum of Anthropology in 1902, to exhibit his discoveries there.

A convinced humanist and pacifist, he dreams of participating in the improvement of the world: He creates the International Institute of Peace.

For him, progress must be at the service of man and this ideal of well-being for humanity does not prevent him from keeping a distance and sometimes being aware of the limits of industrial progress, by its possible attacks on environment and biodiversity.

Albert I undertook profound political, economic and social reforms.

The Prince is at the forefront of the avant-garde and brings Monaco into modernity: He endows the Principality with a Constitution, expands the port, creates a hospital, a high school, a library...

This multifaceted Prince, through his humanism, his patronage, his art of governing, his scientific curiosity and his pioneering awareness of environmental issues, greatly contributed to the influence of his country.

Le prince explorateur is a charismatic fragrance like a navigator in search of adventure. Built around an alliance between a particularly masculine accord of fern and a modernity brought by slightly marine woody notes, this fragrance is an invitation to travel, to discover... Spicier notes will reveal the adventurous and ambitious character of this fragrance.

Top notes: Elemi, Grapefruit, Bergamot, Green notes
Heart notes: Fern, Cardamom, Marine notes, Nutmeg
Base Notes: Cedar, Moss, Patchouli, Musk, Vetiver

All the components of Monoïkos 1297 candles have been subjected to a rigorous sourcing.

The perfumes are developed in partnership with renowned perfumers in Grasse, with a particular interest in natural essences.

Our waxes are natural and made from the best products on the market. No mineral wax, no paraffin and of course no benzene!

The glass, decorated and silk-screened with two of Prince Albert I's mythical boats, is blown in Italy, recycled, recyclable and reusable.

The blue box, like the waters of the Mediterranean, is made in the Principality from FSC-certified paper from responsibly managed forests.

The "Prince Explorateur" candle is part of the ephemeral "Prince Explorateur" collection, a clever silk band that celebrates in fragrance the centenary of the death of a great prince of Monaco.

The raw materials of Monoikos 1297 candles are carefully selected. Monoikos 1297 candle wax is a blend of beeswax and vegetable waxes, made from the best products on the market. No mineral wax, no paraffin and therefore of course benzene free!

Don't worry if a few drops of "sweat" appear, likewise it is completely normal for a slight greasy veil to settle on the walls of the glass during combustion, all these small imperfections are a guarantee of quality, the proof of a 100% natural wax.

To enjoy your candle in the best conditions, leave it to burn the first time until all the wax has become liquid on the surface.

Do not let your candle burn for more than 4 hours.

Do not leave a burning candle unattended. Make sure the surface on which the candle is placed is flat and heat resistant. Keep your candles out of the reach of children, curtains and pets.

After putting out the candle, cut the wick to a maximum of 0.5 cm. A wick that is too long can cause uneven burning or black smoke. If smoke appears, put out your candle, cut the end of the wick and relight!

If the wick gets out of place, gently re-center it while the wax is still melted.

Keep your candle in a dry and temperate place, between 15 and 25° C.

In order to actively contribute to the preservation of the environment, the box and the glass of the Monoïkos 1297 candle are reusable: table glass, whisky glass, pencil jar, small vase, storage for small objects, give free rein to your imagination to embellish your home!

To protect your glass, do not burn your candle to the end, always leave at least 0.5 centimeters of unmelted wax and to clean it, put it in the freezer for a few hours, the wax will then come off very easily.

All you have to do is wash the glass, wipe it and use it in a thousand and one ways !
