A note of history
It is a steep peninsula that served as a refuge for primitive populations and on which the colony of Monoïkos was founded in the 6th century BC.
A perched village in the Mediterranean, it is a neighborhood of narrow, colorful streets, reminiscent of the Middle Ages with its vaulted passages and cobblestone streets, full of charm and history that lead to the Prince's Palace.
The origins of the Palace of Monaco date back to the beginning of the 13th century, in 1215. It has been the official residence of the Prince of Monaco since 1297 and has been enlarged and modified over the centuries.
Further on stands the Cathedral, a Roman-Byzantine style building built in 1875 and the famous Oceanographic Museum, built on the edge of the rock, which has been watching over the oceans for over a century.
This neighborhood also includes most of the country's institutions: the Prince's Palace, the Government, the National Council (Monaco's parliament), the City Hall, the Communal Council, the Courthouse and the prison.
And it is on its walls that the old Monegasque families meet to celebrate its traditions: the celebrations of St. John, St. Nicholas, St. Roman and do not fail to walk in the fragrant gardens, bathed in light, overlooking the Mediterranean.

Wax
The raw materials of Monoikos 1297 candles are carefully selected. Monoikos 1297 candle wax is a blend of beeswax and vegetable waxes, made from the best products on the market. No mineral wax, no paraffin and therefore of course benzene free!
Don't worry if a few drops of "sweat" appear, likewise it is completely normal for a slight greasy veil to settle on the walls of the glass during combustion, all these small imperfections are a guarantee of quality, the proof of a 100% natural wax.
RECOMMENDATION FROM MONOÏKOS 1297
To enjoy your candle in the best conditions, leave it to burn the first time until all the wax has become liquid on the surface.
Do not let your candle burn for more than 4 hours.
Do not leave a burning candle unattended. Make sure the surface on which the candle is placed is flat and heat resistant. Keep your candles out of the reach of children, curtains and pets.
After putting out the candle, cut the wick to a maximum of 0.5 cm. A wick that is too long can cause uneven burning or black smoke. If smoke appears, put out your candle, cut the end of the wick and relight!
If the wick gets out of place, gently re-center it while the wax is still melted.
Keep your candle in a dry and temperate place, between 15 and 25° C.
A NEW LIFE FOR THE PRODUCT
In order to actively contribute to the preservation of the environment, the box and the glass of the Monoïkos 1297 candle are reusable: table glass, whisky glass, pencil jar, small vase, storage for small objects, give free rein to your imagination to embellish your home !
To protect your glass, do not burn your candle to the end, always leave at least 0.5 centimeters of unmelted wax and to clean it, put it in the freezer for a few hours, the wax will then come off very easily.
All you have to do is wash the glass, wipe it and use it in a thousand and one ways !
